We are in the process of building a global network of advisors to cover each of our 12 primary impact catagories. We call these special people EVAcologists and they help to keep EVAcology dynamic, constantly evolving with new and relevant knowledge. Andrew Whalley with his 25 years of leadership within the field is Chairman of this group.

About Us - Andrew Whalley

Andrew Whalley, AIA RIBA

Andrew Whalley has been an instrumental part of Grimshaw since the earliest days of the practice, and has been Partner in Charge of a number of diverse sectors including performing arts, transportation and the work place projects. His award-winning projects include the Eden Project in Cornwall and the redevelopment of the historic Paddington Station in London. He is Partner in Charge of Grimshaw’s New York office, which is currently one of eight architectural practices selected for major public projects under Mayor Bloomberg’s design excellence program.

Andrew has been involved with academia for many years. In the UK this has included several years teaching at the Royal College of Art and Imperial College’s Industrial Design Department. In addition, Andrew ran a unit at the Architectural Association for three years and lectured at University College London for over five years. In the US, he has been a visiting Professor at Washington University and regularly lectures at UPenn.

Andrew is a registered member of the AIA and RIBA and was elected as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts in 2006. He is qualified as an architect in the UK and USA. He has been with Grimshaw since 1986.

About Us - Vincent Chang

Vincent Chang, AIA RIBA

Vincent established Grimshaw’s New York Office in 2001 and has been instrumental in developing the practice’s portfolio and reputation throughout North America. He has led many of the practices most prestigious US projects including the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center, the Experimental & Performing Arts Center at Rensselaer Polytechnic and, the new Miami Science Museum.  In the education & cultural arts sector, Vincent has contributed to the award winning Eden Project in the UK and most recently led the team responsible for Museo Del Acero, recipient of a 2008 AIA Honor Award focused upon Sustainable Design.

Vincent has been involved in academia for many years. In the US he has regularly taught at Yale for the ‘System Integration’ course and, in 2007 was invited to develop a studio course for Cornell University – ‘Comprehensive Design’. In 2008 he presented the Keyes Professorship lecture at the University of Maryland.

Working mostly weekends and evenings Vincent and his wife Gigi founded Plum Organics in 2003, a small company making food for infants, ‘with only the most nutritious foods that inspire the joy of eating’.

About Us - Sue Welland

Sue Welland

Sue Welland co-founded The CarbonNeutral Company in 1997, the world’s first climate change and carbon offsetting business. She has spent the last 12 years building the company into a £multi-million global operation, respected within and outside the industry.

Sue is a creative but practical and pragmatic thinker, with substantial commercial experience as a client and within agency environments. During her time at The CarbonNeutral Company, Sue had a Board position but specific and hands-on responsibility for the Marketing and Branding operations.
